Certain people are gifted with charisma and a sense of trustworthiness that attracts others and oftentimes prompts an uninvited conversation where the other person just spills their guts and tells all. Have you ever encountered such a person? Or maybe you’re the gifted one? It seems like I cannot go anywhere and interact with anyone without having these conversations and I find myself giving the BEST advice that I do not take myself. It’s as though I know how to handle other people's problems better than my own and I can’t sit in a room for more than 10 minutes without someone approaching me for these tough conversations.

Although I am not a therapist or anything even close to that, I do enjoy listening (most of the time) to people and trying to offer solutions to problems they discuss with me. At work this took longer than usual when I first started because people don’t exactly walk around airing their dirty laundry in the workplace, but it wasn’t long before I started having coworkers come sit at my desk to engage in conversations that usually involved me listening and giving feedback and solutions. Of course, not all conversations in my life are this way but I do find that when I first meet someone, they tend to want to tell me things that you probably shouldn’t share easily.

Paper listens better than people. I write to release. I write to feel better. I write to make others feel.
